The Orange County Math Circle was founded in 2007 by math enthusiast Johnny Li (St. Margaret's Episcopal School, Class of 2011) to bring his experience from San Diego Math Circle to share with more students in his hometown. This free event is open to any students in 6th through 8th grade. We will accept both teams and individual students on a first-come, first-served basis.

EVENT INFORMATION:
This event will consist of four rounds. The first three rounds are Sprint, Target and a Team event. Students will compete either with their school teams or will be placed into teams with other individuals. The last round is a Countdown event for the top 16.
AWARDS:
Students in seventh and eighth grade will compete against each other, while sixth graders will compete only amongst themselves.
All students who participate will receive a certificate of recognition. Top students in each grade will be awarded with trophies and medals. The winner and runner-up of the countdown round will also be awarded with trophies. The team that wins the team round will be given a bucket of candy.

Greetings! Welcome to Orange County Math Circle! The OC Math Circle is a student-run service learning organization where high school students gather to explore advanced problem solving topics and teach motivated students in underserved schools in Orange County. By integrating learning and teaching, students take part in serving the community in strengthening math culture and making resources accessible to all who want to learn.
